My buddy and I re-visited the Bavarian Army Museum in Ingolstadt back in 2010 and were reminded once again what a great museum it is. The WWI exhibits in the Redoubt Tilly had been recently completed and additional work for a WWII exhibit and further expansions were announced. We recommend you set aside at least 8 hours for this jewel during your travel days in Germany. Don't forget to make sure you go upstairs at the corner tower of the New Residenz to see the very large displays of zinnfiguren (flats). My favorite being the battle of Leuthen where the small Bavarian contingent was beaten soundly...

Note the "mid-blue" colour of the coat and facings. This is now thought to be the hue that was used by Max Emanuel for his troops during the Turkenkreig and the wars with Louis XIV, not the paler blue depicted for the later Napoleonic uniforms.
Lovely pix and a great museum--within easy reach of the Nordlingen and Hochstadt (ie Blenheim) battlefields as well.
